bathroom...

Hi Chuck,

I like the feel of this one, very dramatic. Nice.

My2c,

The pluming is unfinished underneath the bathroom sink, my eyes were draw to this right away. Perhaps have the pipe extend further down towards the floor, loop back in a “U shape” and then into the wall. The texture map on the wall is too repetitive. The sink’s material could be a little more glossier or a touch more reflective. Also the camera angle you have chosen looks right into the mirror and the wall, but there’s no one there, so it feels like there’s a ghost looking in the mirror. Maybe it’s just me...

Altogether a very nice WIP ;)

thanks for the reply...

the map bothers me too, but i'm finding it hard to get large files for free. not sure about the glass, its standard raytraced. maybe a vase or something else to reflect would help. the pipe went straight into the wall, but the angle didnt show it. not sure where/how a trap would work, but i've seen sinks like it before. i have been working on the other side of the room and now it seems i've lost a lot of the shadows i liked.

anyway, another update....

it depends on what this is for. Is it for yourself or a client? If it's for you, then the first one was better, imo. The only things I would change in the first one is the contrast (just a touch more to dramatize the sunlight) and add a candle or something, to focus on. But it's really nice. I didn't notice the texture.

The last one is more client like, where you can see everything clearly. The pipe looks really bad, imo, I'd carry it into the wall. Look at some of the Kohler sinks.

The drama is gone, that was in the first and take a little life out of it, but it's still a very nice image.
