Munz
I am have an extremely hard time rendering this file out. I am using Backburner to render out my my RenderNode. I keep getting the following message: "An unexpected exception has occurred in the network renderer and it is terminating" Does anyone know why I am getting this message? One Theory is that I need more memory, the machine has 2 Dual Core AMD processors and 4 x 512 RAM (total of 2 gig RAM) Has anyone else run into this problem? Thanks
BrianKitts
we get those mostly when one of our nodes is missing a plugin, or software update.. there's no one real answer, it's a pretty broad error.
Munz
I am not using any plugins, the file will render if I turn off half the layers, but no one layer in particular is causing the problem. It will go through pass 1, 2, and 3, then render out but will not save the file, but will give me the error...
sedus69
I got the same problem 2 days Ago (I m still calculatin Frame) I got 10 Pc, Xeon 3.06, opteron 165 ... 5 are XP 64 2 Gb, no pb rendering image (15 Millions polygon) 5-10 min/frame Other XP 32 1 Gb or 2 Gb Were crashing, never rendering anything. Start Compiling Mesche, Building Accelerator And... Crash. Only 2 Solutions -> Install XP 64 (I use a 6 Month Trial Version) If Processor are 64 bits compatible (Works VERY GREAT no more Memory problem) --> Or Change Calculation Mode for Vray Scene from STATIC system to DYNAMIC, It use FAR LESS memory and Work well (But... VERY LONG time to render) U have to find the Best Memory Usage before They Crash. My usage as an exemple(not that simple) for 500 Frames : 1->150 frame Dynamic memory For "slow" Pc w/ XP 32 and Frame 150 -> 500 XP 64, Static Render (FAr more faster !!!! 2.5-5 Times) hope it is help
Munz
sedus, I will give the dynamic setting a try since I don't have windows x64 right now, but am really thinking about upgrading. I had the option to get x64 when I bought the system but was nervous and didn't do it. Did you change the Dynamic memory limit, it is default at 400 mb (my computer has 2 gig currently) thanks and I hope that works
sedus69
It will Work , If it is not a Lisence problem or a Plugin problem, But..? don't let Dynamic memory at deflaut 400 Mo (To low work good for a "spinning Cube") Try tu put at least you amout of memory 2000 for 2 Gb And if crashinf lower by a hundred 1900... and 1800 and so on. If not crashing Try higher setting, The higher, the faster !!! and Far more faster. dynamic memory Put to Central momory only the amout it can fit, So when it render and if it need more memory, it flush a part, and load other, Imagine for a Scene whit lot of reflection, it need to load EVERY part of the scen many time. In static, It optimise this, by using ht most memory it can. And Xp 64... up to 64 TERA byte... on a normal PC it use Pagefile. XP 32 limit is 4 Gb, XP 64... none. bripatfan
Sedus69, You are the man! I did a search because I was experiencing "An unexpected exception has occurred in the network renderer and it is terminating" when renderina an image OR precalculating light cache thru backburner. I came across this thread and followed your instructions. Everything you said was spot on! Changing the static to dynamic and the memory limit to 1500mb worked for me. Again, the info you provided is much appreciated!
