Relatively new in the 3d world. I have been working on creating a conceptual rendering but not sure whats wrong with it. Can anyone give me a few tips for the materials, lighting tricks, an/or any thing else you see wrong with the image. Basically what needs to be fixed. Thank you all.

Well I would say the first thing would be that you have people sunbathing in the foreground but the buildings appear to be lit by floodlights, you wouldn't be able to see any lights on the buildings in weather that would have sunbathers outdoors. So deciding if its a daytime or nighttime shot where you can lighting is the first step.

Yeah I'm aware of the time/season problem. I have put those people in the scene until I find an appropiate grouping of people or search my photo library. The scene will eventually be late evening or dusk(I hope). Any other thoughts that will help the rendering out will be much appreciated. Any suggestions to make the scene look better. I am having trouble getting the brick to look real too. Thanks for the help.

If your intention is to create a late evening scene then I wouldn’t put in elements that suggest daytime. Your sky isn't appropriate for an evening shot, you also have photographic elements in the background that look like they were taken at different times of day, and this makes it very difficult to create a convening scene. You should start out working in the time of day you want the shot to be, get a good over all lighting level for that time of day and then start adding spot lights in areas of your building where it will highlight its most important features. One last thing, the building its self seems to be leaning to the right, you might want to try using a camera correction modifier.
