mm224
I've been working on a bathroom scene using 3dmax 8 and Vray 1.47 with distributed rendering. I've posted 2 images: one test that was rendered on a low resolution around 300x 400 and an image at 4096 x 3112. The large image rendered with dark squares. What confuses me is that the smaller image rendered fine. I know it's a problem with the dr, but im not sure how to fix it. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks. mm224
alfienoakes
looks like the IR map isn't being calc'd properly for one of the machines. How many machines are you using for your DR? Also, are you using a precalc'd IR map, I would imagine not, but worth asking. You can see geometry behind the "blackness", so it does look like the IR is not working on that portion. mm224
Im using 8 machines on a low preset...render time was a little over 12 hours. I don't understand how it could work on a smaller image and not on the larger. Any ideas? Thanks.
manta
Are you using QMC for secondary ??
alfienoakes
Just as an aside, 12 hours does seem very long, especially on a low preset. And thats with the render time effectively being cut down to an 1/8 th of what it should be. DR should speed things up.. I would think no more than an hour for a complex scene like yours.. Do you have some high glossy settings in there or something..? Andy
