mooney102
Sometimes when rendering, the render will just keep calculating beyond what is needed. For example, i'll test render a scene with LC and IR, say it renders in 5 min. I will change something very subtle, then render takes 3 hours? Canceling render then results in Max locking up. I will then end the process, loose all unsaved work, and reopen file. Is this something with the scene? Has anyone had experience with this? All using Max 8 and vray 1.
Respect
make a separete save to the file before the last render

All using Max 8 and vray 1.5 I've had this before when rendering scenes that were extremely high in polygon counts and hogs up all of the system memory (which led me into the world of vray proxies)... watch your task manager while rendering and see if you are maxing out your ram. when this happens, max doesn't have the system resources available to unload the scene and cancel the render as fast as normal. If so, you need to either buy more ram, or learn a more optimal way of modeling that isn't so heavy on the polygon count.
