Andrew Roane
I'm trying to model a simple bath tub. I used the PowerBooleans to subtract out the tub basin, and I then tried to use Edge>chamfer to soften the corners a little bit, but the highlighted edge (see image) is getting in the way. I tried using edit triangulation, and it didn't help at all. The 'Remove' button didn't do anything either. Is there a simple way to fix this, or should I just try another modeling approach? Thanks. I forgot to add that I converted the object to an editable poly after the subtraction.
Ricardo Eloy
Well, sorry to say that edge WILL be always there. It's needed in order to, in the lack of a better word, "lock" the mesh. Without it, you can't have the shape you're after. One thing you could try, though, is modeling the tub in 2 pieces. One for the base and another for the tub itself. Might give you a bit more control over the mesh, I believe.
Andrew Roane
Thanks, I'll just give it another shot using two pieces.
NeonMojo
You do need that edge, but it doesn't have to be there. You just need an edge going from your outside contour to the inner contour. Try using the cut tool to make another edge from an outside corner to a vertex that makes the edge close to perpendicular to the inside contour bend. Once you have another edge you can remove the original one. Then chamfer once or twice and turbo-smooth. Hope that makes sense...
