going from autodesk viz 4 to max 8

i started modeling in viz 4 then transferred to max 8 and i am running into difficulties. max 8 is telling me that obsolete info found. then if I try to transfer back to viz 4 after saving it tells me that i am missing rlls or something like that. any solutions

Both Max and Viz are not backward compatible. Go to Scriptspot.com and look for "Back from 5" or BOBO Format. Its a script that more or less overcomes this issue.

 

Dont worry too much about the "Obsolete" message it is basically a warning saying that the model was made with an older version and that there may be some differences. If it looks OK then just resave the file - to a different name - and proceed.
