Jeff Mottle
As this site was referenced in another thread, I was curious to know how many others frequent this site and/or participate in the challenges. www.dpchallenge.com I just started entering a few of the competitions, but throught if there were others who also did as well we could post the images in a sub forum of our Digital Photography forum for critiques from our community. Not always arch based, but I think valuable none the less for composition, color and lighting practice. Perhaps we migth get better crits than "cool" as well. Koper
yeah, awesome site, one of the best!! I registered there about 2 years ago but never got the opp. to enter one of the comps. because you only get a weeks time to do challenges, sometimes more. so now i only use it for insperation and some refr. and always try to refer back to it. In one of the reacent news threads, can't remember which one, it were stated that for improving arch viz quality one will need to start doing photography. Jeff, I think your Idea is on the dot. You might just want to state the amount of photos allowed per weak, or so. It's gonna take up allot of space!
Arnold Gallardo
Good site Jeff! I am stuck with Flickr tho although I am not specifically looking for a critique Never entered contest too either LOL. Since I got my Nikon DSLR tho in May I have reached 6K shots and almost 7K now. LOL! I didnt reach that frame number in my old 'analog' SLR until 4 years later! Well photo graphy does and forces you to look at the world 'differently' I can still go out and look outside and be able to tell what ISO to use and aperture to a get a proper exposure although this abiulity of mine has diminished since I am just using Matrix and spot metering now. You have to really 'see' than just 'look' at things. Ultimately all the camera models used in CGI are all based on photographs as well as how photography captures the world. Jeff Mottle
Yeah I'm addicted to this site now. As are two of my fellow collegues at VisMasters. I've always loved photography and this gets me to try new things and practice. Just submitted to the bokehIII challenge tonight. If any other CGA members are also submitting, let us know here.
