Put together a strong portfolio.

Do some research on the local firms then diecide what type of firm and building type are you interested in. do you want to work for a large corporate office, or a smaller to medium sized firm?

Narrow it down and send out your resume to everyone on you list. Can't really get any easier. You may also request an interview, even if they are not hiring. Often times firms will leave the door cracked for special talentrs, even when fully staffed. The trick is to meet with and interview with as many companies as possible. If one opprutunity is not right for you, you can also have them recomend other firms. Chances are, like in many cities, the architects in Minneapolis likely worked for several firms before settling down. Most promenant architects all know each other, so recomendations are also key.
