steven martin
http://www.cgarchitect.com/forum/filepush.asp?file=Sheet01.jpg Office Development. I would say that this project is about 75% complete. The only photoshop involved so far is to put the image into a photograph. I am having a few problems with light and what I should see in the interior of the building, so comments would be appreciated. Rendered in viz4 using rd5000. Standard Materials and 1 light render time approx 45mins
Crazy Homeless Guy
looking nice. the 2 cars driving down the street, and the peopel standing on the corners are kind of distracting. the clear glass seing through to the interior looks great. Ernest Burden III
If you perspective-corrected the base photo in PS you OVERdid it. The verticals are not vertical, they actually get wader at the top. That is easy to fix, but it is very distracting--it hit me the instant I saw the picture. And the moving cars are not helping you.
mbr
I'd agree with the two comments above. I am not sure if it is the glass that is casting a transparent shadow on the stone edge (in the foreground), but if you look at the building behind it the sun is very bright on the edge. Maybe if you increased the sun on the edges it'd stand out even more. But it looks nice, and with those two corrections (the verticals and cars), it will be very nice. nichchris
Looks great. Is the surface of the glass curved or is it purely the camera angle and FOV giving that impression? nichchris
steven martin
Thanks for comments so far(keep them coming), I will review it later next week and take on board all comments. Well spotted, the glass is curved tho' for the scale of the project the curve is not very obvious
3d-doctor
i take it your are using the skylight shader for my money the sun is a fraction too bright causing the stone to bloom a little with that shader there is no hard fast rule 90spread =3.0 intensity down to 0spread = 0.5 i tend to stick around the 60 spread on the shaders and sometime will use 2 one for a sky with a blue tinge and one yellow for sun and comp them you could also do with a couple of basement level ambient light to lift the shadowon the u/s of the steel to a lighter grey (reads black here just now) also introduce a subtle noise map to the glass to break up the refelctive pattern as this is a test render will you consider the shadow casts onto the surroundings as a lot of the photo will fall into shadow or should do put in a few people in the buiding and some furniture and add some more self illum light cards even if they are not part of the lighting scheme one of the problems of virtual photography is the flatness in a image or the subconcious mind searching for the details that would be there but have not been modelled or they are just too damn clean other than that renderdrives rock
Mike
I find it wonderfull !! except the cars, not well integrated i think (colors too strong compare to the global tones)...and Ernest is right, verticals are not vertical enough... but that's a style Great job
psyanide
Great image. The two cars on the main road don't fit in too well, a bit more Photoshop work is needed. Is that Bothwell Street?
beowulf
i would have to agree that the cars have to go, they definatly dont fit. i think that the far right building's mirrored glass looks strange, maybe its just me, but id like to see it toned down a bit

This image is not for marketing purposes, but as a tool for the architects (us)
