martin walker Posted October 26, 2006 Share Posted October 26, 2006 can someone help me with this I have a "birds eye" animation of a scheme, and I want to simulate DOF by bluring the lower part of the image (as attached) Im sure there is a way of doing this in Vegas using masks and blur, but cant seem to crack....any of you guys know ? Jeff Mottle Posted October 26, 2006 Share Posted October 26, 2006 You should be able to load a Z-depth map and apply a blur to it. If this is an animation you'll need to render out an animated sequence of depth maps. (I've never done this in Vegas, but should be possible) Vegas is not really a compositing tool, but a linear editor. It would be a lot easier to do this in Combustion or perhaps after effects.
