lxgrunger
Hi everyone, I was having problems with the number of polygons on a scene Im working on right now, so I have to buy more ram. I had 2 gb dual channel pc3200 and bought another two. The question is: Why the computer only recognizes me 3.25 gb instead of 4gb? Is that normal? Im running windows xp64 professional. Do I have to do the 3gb switch thing on xp64 professional? thanks

womble
A blind stab in the dark here, but does your motherboard support up to 4gb of ram?
alfienoakes
You may find this thread of interest. Its to do with the motherboard limitations, and addressable space etc, required for other services to run: http://www.planetamd64.com/index.php?showtopic=16839 Andy
ihabkal
a year and a half after buying my computer, I finally got to use that 4th expensive stick of ram, thanks guys. it was a bios setting that did it. the people at xicomputer should have had it set correctly 18 months ago.
