Frosty
I'm currently working on an animation with a partner. I use C4D (obviously) and he uses Viz. We are planning to split the work so that I will handle all animation and he will handle textures/lights in VRay. Has anyone had luck transfering animated camera information between C4D and Max/Viz? I use a lot of tags such as target and align to spline while animating. I also plan to animate various objects in the scene.
AJLynn
Have you tried FBX files? If you can't get that to work right you may have to transfer the spline paths of the camera an target then redo the animation in Viz using those. Good luck. Frosty
FBX does translate the animation.... if i only use keyframes. Anything animated with expressions is lost. My next step is to attempt to turn expresion driven animation into simple keyframes. Then I should be good to go.
AJLynn
Ooh, yeah, I haven't found any way to get expressions to translate to other programs. I tried on one school project, and gave up and kept everything in Cinema.

Its brute-force, but maybe is your best bet. If you ask about that at CGtalk you will probably find an answer. I don't know myself, but I think I've read about doing that somewhere, sometime. AJLynn
"Current State To Object" on the camera and target at each frame and batch the render in Viz

Yes, that is exactly the approach I'm thinking. I cant seem to get AJ's method to work tho.
Frosty
Well, the "spline to position track" command gets me most of the way there. This approach loses the easing however.
