roadway markings help request

Having integrated city map dxf file with some total station dxf layouts, i have my road, sidewalk and grass surfaces laid out.

I'm now working on road markings and having some difficulty.

You'll notice that the yellow lines to the right of the image render nice and thick and are quite visible, however other lines with seemingly the same attributes don't. I've used the material from the editor, the same render settings for each line...i'm stumped.

Also, when applying the same material again to a line, it then displays white in the viewport rather than the correct color map...it renders with the correct color map, just doesn't display in the viewport properly. I've tried the activate maps solution to no avail....

Please help the relative newbie out :)

(Using 3DS Max 6)

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

r u trying to render a top view?i think you shoud work on it in photoshop insted of doing it in max.it would be easier.:)

i'm actually going to be rendering a 30 second animation with camera view locked onto a vehicle travelling along the roadway...

...so i'm trying to achieve the lowest polygon, "ok-looking" scene

No Vray here !

oh,ok.well,i would suggest that u study more on mappings.this would help u a lot on developing a "not so realistic" but "believable" scene, coz u could be able to use plane and mapped it with realworld textures.ive attached a screenshot of an animation that i made.(but this was one of my test render,i cant find the completed one, maybe on the backup drive, hehehe).this was a quick animation for a presentation showing a highway development.i made it the whole afternoon and render it overnight using a frame by frame rendering.it was a quick one so i dont have time to make the details.cars and cityscape, etch. were still not included on this scene.hope it would be of some help.
