briantone
Hello everyone, Could any of you point me in the direction of a good post-production program in which I could do fades, text overlays, audio, etc? I will be taking consecutive JPG frames rendered with 3dsMax and stitching together a few short videos with multiple scenes. I was used to working with Adobe AfterEffects in school but, now that I have graduated, I don't have access to the huge amount of software I now realize I took for granted. Please let me know if you have any ideas. This doesn't need to be a complex program-- I just need a few basic abilities as listed above. Thanks, Brian
Arnold Sher
i love Sony Vegas 7. It is fantastically simple to learn and very stable. Does everything you need and so much more...
STRAT
i too am a vegas fan. and since i recently figured out you can overlay and compose multiple tracks using photoshop style layer modes i love it all the more for simple jpg sequence compiling or stiching together different scenes vegas is a joy to use. but, rather expensive just for that. you can compile rendered jpgs into anims and stitch animated sequences together natively in max. briantone
Are there any freeware/inexpensive programs available with the same or similar abilities?
alias_marks
Its a little cryptic and has a decent learning curve from what I've heard but, Jashaka is a good, free, open source compositing program. They've just come out with a new version too. http://www.jahshaka.org/ I also know that the new version of blender has imbeded a native compositor. I don't know if you can stitch individual jpg's together though. http://www.blender.org/ Both free, open source and worth a look.
