AJLynn
I've got Super Mario Galaxy. I like it. It's along the same lines as Mario 64 but a better implementation. It's got a very strange implementation of gravity. I like the finger control demo. There's already a Wiimote driver for OSX and there are all kinds of rumors of a multitouch Mac in the works so I can see the Wiimote thing plus my Macbook Pro and my TV becoming an interesting new platform. (BTW - got a new toy, a Sony KDS-50A3000 and it goes very well with the Wii. If anybody's been in the market for a TV, there have been some crazy sale prices on these lately and they're excellent, with a good enough picture to impress me, which is hard. Now, how do I tax deduct a TV...)
Koper
I'm just waiting for a friend of mine to finish the game so I can borrow... (I know, I'm a cheap old bastrd...). BTW, check out these videos. This is really what I call using creativity! The guy is using the Wii for very cool things, and some of them can be used in games. Something to hope for... very coool but the ps3 is already moving into this direction as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umO0ZFIgwdE&feature=related

My only hesitation is I wonder how the viewing is from the sides? My family room has some seating from both sides so an LCD has some appeal but LCD's that are comparable in quality (like the Sharp Aquos) are crazy expensive at 50"+. malevy
Definitely the Wii. I am not a big gamer but the Wii is alot of fun of course i cannot play it now after back surgery so I stick to my favorite PC game counterstrike source..
ShaunDon
I'll vote for the Wii as well. My girlfriend and I picked one up a couple weeks back and it's just unbelievable. The first time you feel sore after playing a video game is novel to say the least, and it's incredibly popular when we have people over -- put on music and have a tennis tournament! I'm blown away by fancy graphics, but the pure fun of the Wii overshadows any graphical drawbacks. Shaun
Ricardo Eloy
Well, I have owned a Wii for exactly 4 months now. Honestly, there were times I really got sad because of the graphics and stuff. C'mon, some friends are playing full HD games on their 360s and I'm stuck with 720p... And there's Metroid Prime 3, which got me all sick (really)... But then, a borrowed Zelda. The same game and graphics from Game Cube. Never had played a Zelda game before, so I did not know what to expect. Gee, what can I say? I'm addicted. Totally. The game is incredible, and swinging Link's sword with the wiimote is something that made me glad I bought a Wii. It's so great, the whole experience, that I found myself playing for hours. And I now realize that I could only have that much fun playing it on Wii. It wouldn't be the same if I had to do all the fighting with a regular joystick. I'd be bored by now. Of course, we all get blown away by graphics like CoD4 or Assassin's Creed. But I haven't seen one single person saying that played those with the wife and kids during a weekend, or during a party. And for me, that's half the fun.
BrianKitts
you got to hand it to Nintendo for nailing the market on being a fun social console instead of going after the gamers who want the full realistic effect. The crazy thing is how they have outpaced their competitors in sales, and that doesn't even count all the people who desperately bought a Wii on ebay for upwards towards $700 USD around christmas time. I just bought mine a couple of weeks ago for $350, sure I payed and extra hundred but the fun I'm getting out of it, is totally worth not waiting for them to restock. One of our local bars is starting a Wii bowling league. One of their walls has 6 flatscreens lined up, so that's 24 people bowling at once running up big bar tabs. BRILLIANT! From the sides you do lose some quality and there's also some quality loss in the vertical direction. I don't know if there's a Sony store in the SLC but you might be able to see one at Best Buy, or at least an A2020 series (the previous generation). BTW don't get tricked into buying an E series - the LCD projector can't get anywhere near the SXRD color quality, though a good DLP can. The SXRD image quality also beats the crap out of my (smaller) LCD TV, my LCD monitor and my laptop's monitor.
Brian Cassil
Well, I have owned a Wii for exactly 4 months now. Honestly, there were times I really got sad because of the graphics and stuff. C'mon, some friends are playing full HD games on their 360s and I'm stuck with 720p... I didn't think the wii could even get to 720p. I thought it could only get to 480P if you bought the component wii connector? From the sides you do lose some quality and there's also some quality loss in the vertical direction. The SXRD image quality also beats the crap out of my (smaller) LCD TV, my LCD monitor and my laptop's monitor. There's a place that specializes in home theaters just a couple blocks from my office here that has some rooms set up with different TV's, surround sound, hi-def players, and all sorts of stuff. One of them is with KDS-60A3000. Another is with the Sharp LC-65D64U. Obviously the LCD is more narrow but with my set-up that is not a big deal. I've heard that LCD's have better clarity from oblique angles, as I've mentioned that would be nice. From the front they look about equal in quality but the rooms they have set up are very small and I can't see how much difference there is from the sides. Oh, by the way, the Sharp TV is $8,000 which makes it not an option anyway. There is a younger brother that's 52" instead of 65" and doens't have the enhanced black point or a couple of other bells and whistles for about the same price as the sony. I'm going to look to see if I can find a good demo of that somewhere and if the quality of viewing from the sides is a big difference and it looks close the the sony from the front I will be considering it. Wow, congrats to anyone who read all this OT rambling.
