DigArts Election Year Sale

Another election, another sale. Yes, it's time for DigArts "2 for 1"

election year sale (somehow we have this sale every election year around this time). So if you're a Painter user, you can get Jungle DVD and Forestry for the price of Jungle DVD alone. Or, you can purchase Jungle DVD, Forestry, Grains and Palm Paints for the price of Jungle DVD and Forestry alone, a savings of $140.

These are tree and foliage tools you can use in Corel Painter or Paint Shop Pro to add trees, foliage, plants or flowers to your architectural illustrations. Palm Paints actually comes with a Photoshop version included, and we'll be adding a free Photoshop update to our Grains and Grasses product later this month. So this is a great chance to add versatility to your palette.

The sale lasts through November 7, election day. So this year, vote and save too :) See http://www.gardenhose.com for information, demonstrations and tutorials.

I like the idea of these libraries, but there are no examples of them use in architecture, and that i would like to see.

And an fre download of a sample would be usfull to use also.

All very little house on the prairie look of them , not sure about using them for a irish look.

Nice though

Hi Phil,

Thanks for the feedback. After 13 years it's sometimes hard to see the forest for the trees :) So, I do need to spend some time updating the site to reflect more contemporary uses, at least in the gallery section where most examples are found.

In the past, most of the interest came from the lay terrain modeling, Poser and graphics communities and that's what I emphasized. Today, I'd have to say most comes from architecture, gaming and film pros.

For the time being, have a look at the various tree collections linked from http://www.gardenhose.com/trees.htm Except for the Date Palm collection, and earlier versions of Birch and Sycamore, virtually every tree in the collection is a Jungle DVD, Forestry painting. More are scheduled, including vines and flowering shrubs.

The forthcomi Coconut Palm collection will reflect the capabilities of the new Photoshop version of Palm Paints. This is a layered drag/drop version which I actually found to be very efficient and far more precise that using nozzles/tubes, at least when creating the tree collection. That said, we include Painter or PSP paints with the PS version.

I mention all of this because we'll be releasing a PS version of Grains & Grasses this month too, and with enhanced rendering features. We plan to release it as a free update to current users.

Anyway, if you're not sure about how PS layers perform in workflow, download the smaller demonstration of the Winter Trees collection linked from the tutorial page at http://www.gardenhose.com/forests.htm. Try the PS files on the Tropic tutorial page too. They'll be a little less intuitive, but you can seen how Jungle DVD works as PS layers in tree creation.

Thanks again,

Dennis@DigArts
