kwerch
Does anyone know how 3ds max 7 will work with Vista? I never thought I would need more than 4 gig of ram but it might not be that out of the question- Windows Xp pro handles only 4 g of ram from what I understand- Thanks-
AJLynn
4GB is a limitation of 32-bit memory addressing, so to get more you'll need XP64 or Vista64 (on a 64-bit platform and a MB that supports more than 4GB). To use more than 4GB for an application, the app would have to be 64-bit capable, e.g. Max9 64 but not Max7. I haven't seen any reason to believe that Max7 wouldn't work on Vista32 or 64, but with that limitation.
kwerch
Thx Andrew- I was talking with my computer guy today re: adding ram and the limitations of the current OS. I think I'll put the max of 4G into this machine and go from there- Maybe down the line I'll have a need to make a complete change to the world of 64 bit and the potential power. In the meantime I think I'll get by just fine with 4G.
