jonrempel
When rendering an exterior image with an HDR image I get an error message that Mental Ray cannot free XXXXXXmb memory when I run an image larger than 1500x1500. Is this simply a RAM issue...I only have 2GB right now. The same image will render fine at any smaller size. Jon Rempel
Tommy L
Hi, i dont know how it works with mental ray but if its the sam e as vray, its easy to fix. Download HRDshop and resize your HDRimage. Im guessing your using quite a large map. I tend to save the hdri as a jpeg to use as a reflection map, which you want to keep big for accurate reflections, but the hdri casting the luminance can be relatively small. Large hdris crash my computer, and yes, it is a ram issue. Hope that helps
