Tony
I'm looking for some comments on the general lighting of the scene. It's a small loft with a single bedroom. All lighting is from the outside, windows. No interior lighting at all. This rendering has some artifacting going on because of the -4,-4 irradeance map settings. I will fix those in the final renderings. This is a test rendering and I really would like some comments on the overall feel of the scene. Rendered with vray 1:42 mintues render time. bigcahunak
If anything it would be the way the light bounce from the bricks on the right. I believe bricks should absorb more light. But thats minor. Its just Beautiful! Bump up those settings and print it out.
nisus
Hi Tony, Great job on the glass tiles! How did you achieve the effect? nisus
kid
looking good tony, apart from the fact that it looks a little too similar to this loft apartment. but hey, it's still pretty.
Tony
Thanks for the kind words guys. Bigcahunick - There is a door near that brick wall that has glass panels. But I will look at what you suggested. Nisus - I have the file for this glass brick if your interested. It is done with a vray material, however. Kid - I know the render you are talking about. I was so impressed by it that I decided to see if I could come up with something similar, but I decided to make some changes of my own to the layout. That glass and brick wall combination is just neat looking! You can bet that a man lives here, with all the wood and brick:) I'm going to render a few more views and I will post them when done. Thanks
nisus
Hi Tony, Sure, I think we are all interested here. Maybe you can add a small description and a link in the T&T-section about glass. Tnx! rgds nisus *T&T = Tips&Techniques
Tony
Here are a few more views of the scene. I used exponential color mapping with these renders, but I'm not sure if I like the look that this gives to the renders. Still playing with this, so if you have any suggestions, let me here them! No client, just trying different things with vray. [ July 05, 2003, 06:16 PM: Message edited by: Tony ]
Petar Petrovic
That could do! But the glass setting alone would be enough!!
mbr
Yeah, all I can say is wow! Really nice. VRay, eh? It seems that there are more and more impressive images showing up with it. Anyone else know of animations online done with any of the GI packages?
Tony
Thanks for the kind words and I agree, vray is one kickass renderer! Mel - I still learning vray and this was the first time I used exponential color mapping. Basically, color mapping allows for light adjustment in the dark or over bright areas of a scene. If you increase the dark multiplier the corners and other dark areas brightness will increase but not the lighter areas. The reverse is true for the brightness multiplier, if you decrease the numbers than the overly bright areas will be toned down. This is a very simple explanation and someone else here may be able to explain it better. It does help a great deal for interior scenes but not so much for exterior. I'm trying to figure out how to post the glass block file, as soon as I do I will post it here. If your interested in the glass file, e-mail me and I'll send it to you.
