mister oy
Hello everbody, my first post of probably many questions.... I have just started using Vray 1.4 and currently still just playing around with it to get a feel of what you can do. So far I'm quite impressed. Are there any specific settings I can change to do quick, grainy previews of scenes? Thanks
AJLynn
I do previews in low resolution by setting both GI slots to Light Cahe and putting Light Cache in Progressive Path Tracing mode. It works a bit like Maxwell - it will start out very grainy and get less grainy and more accurate as it runs, and you can stop it at any time. mister oy
Excellent, that's going to save me a load of time when I'm trying out stuff!
BrianKitts
I prefer to set my AA to fixed = 1 and turn off the extra AA filters when doing previews. for me this normally cuts the rendering time in half. sure the AA is totally gone, but for setting lighting levels/placement, its definitely a speed/time saver/
manta
PPT saves me tons of time, giving me almost instant feedback on my lighting...
mister oy
what's PPT?
Christopher Nichols
Fixed 1 is great... and if you want to see it with a little more quality... do a fixed 3. I have even used fixed 10 for finals, and have gotten faster results then anything else, but that is for special conditions.
