Ricardo Eloy
Dude! Lose the flare! It's too damn strong, taking over the whole image! Also try creating dif. lights, with dif angles and all. The overall look is really flat. [] Rick

Sawyer
Real quick note to keep in mind for lens flares. not only are the passe and overused but they are a photgraphic mistake. Professional photographers really get paid to avoid that kind of stuff. So they might look real but only on CG work will they be seen.
Christian Miranda
Hi superdave, Your images lack a more detailed shading. I would use some sort of fakeosity, it produces the softer shadows which are more natural and a can be produced by skylight and/or diffuse reflections. Regarding your materials I would use a little bit of noise mixed with the textures and produce more detailed maps on your image editting software of choice. I can see some repetitive textures on them as well. Bigger and tileable maps would help as well. Overall your modeling seems to be ok. Just pay attention to the shading part. Keep us posted! John Dollus
On the top image: 1. darken the building elements as they recede from the camera to add a bit of depth to the facade. 2. If you are going to add cars, you need to go all the way. The place looks deserted with only a couple and a huge parking lot. 3. Tiling on the parking lot repeats too much. Try using a mix map with a noise mixer to quickly breakup the pattern. Ideally, find another texture. 4. Add some banners from the lightpoles or flags around the entrance to draw attention to the front and add some color. The others: 1. Much too saturated. Especially on the greens. 2. The brick posts are using a stacked bond instead of a running bond. With posts that small, a running bond would probably look better. Also increase the number of bricks in the material while increasing the mapping size to eliminate the tiling. 3. Like everyone else said, lose the flare.
