shangriladida
okay...just to make this section happening a bit, im attaching these; these are my latest works, please do give comments~ I need them! anyway, Ive read the previous thread asking our satisfaction on maxwell render. My answer is, I AM SATISFIED. I dont know much about other softwares, but by just using SKP, and MR, I can compete with others who are mastering other renderings...Im not saying im damn good...but, ermm...yeah! theres a point there!! hehehe... chuck
ah, maxwell. sometimes i really miss it. anyway, i think you're images have a good start, but there's too great of a gap between the modeling/texturing and maxwell's lighting. maxwell really exposes some of the issues in the renderings... materials- try to correct the tiling on the roof and pavers. the grass needs more detail, doesn't seem to have a texture on the left side. the pavement and grass is too dark as well. the car needs a paint material and glass. modeling- here's where SU's trees just won't cut it. are you rendering straight out of SU? can you bring it into Max/maxwell and add some high quality entourage? i think post work in PS would look better than those trees. you should also look at how roofs typically terminate. you're missing eaves/fascia/etc here and there, it's really obvious @ the drop off. hope that helps... chuck
Devin Johnston
I agree with all the above comments, your texturing is really hurting your images, also the black driveway is just to distracting. It is a good start, just concentrate on the details now.
shangriladida
oo..ic, thanks guys! love ur comments like i love the rain in Kuala Lumpur! Just a few questions; 1. How to add details to the grass...I know its pretty obvious, and it ruins the image too~ Any ideas? Should be done in Photoshop? 2. Ill work on with the details on the roofing. I didnt actually render directly from SU coz I wanted to lighten up the scene(emitters etc). Ermm..wut else, yeah, How about the trees? Im not good at detailing the trees, I managed to replace the old texture with my own, but still didnt go right, hmm... Thanks~ -sham- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Devin Johnston
The problem with your shingles is that there to big and you can see them tiling, scale them way down or find a better map that is larger and doesn’t show tiling as badly, the same goes for your sidewalk texture. Your grass has the opposite problem in that there is really no texture to it only color and a bump map. Try finding a some images of grass and see if you can make those work for you. The drive way wouldn’t be solid black unless it was black top, most driveways are concrete. The trees do look artificial, you I'd do some post work with Photoshop and add some trees and bushes.
