Naics Code

If starting an 3d archviz firm, which NAICS code would it fall under? Any firms out there that have done this?

I'm thinking 541340 Drafting Services? But at the same time, it's not exactly. It could be graphic design in a sense....

Any opinions out there? Or firms that have registered?

thanks,

Paul.

wow...

after doing some reasearch I have found that firms are registering their primary service class all across the board. Statistical information is very hard to find. I searched up 10 companies and here are all the PRIMARY categories they have themselves listed under:

541420 - Industrial Design Services

541510 - Computer Systems Design and Related Services

541340 - Drafting Services

541310 - Architectural Services

541430 - Graphic Design Services

541690 - Other Scientific and Technical Consulting Services

There should be a specific classification for Architectural Illustrators or something of that sort...

Firms need to start registering under one class or there will never be any accurate statistics on the industry. I propose Drafting Services as probably the most applicable. But then again, i'm not completely sold on it.

Where would good old fashioned watercolor illustrators be listed?

NAICS = North American Industry Classification System

http://www.census.gov/epcd/www/naics.html

When you register a business in north america, you choose the industry that you operate in. This is defined by a code, in this case the NAICS code. I'm just saying i'm finding archviz fims registered under different industry classes that are very different from eachother.

This is how the government compiles statitics about businesses. You file your reports and returns under a specific industry.

If archviz firms are registering under completely different industry classes, then the true value of the industry will never be as accurate as it could be if all of them were registering under the same class.
