rintin2x
Hi guys, my name is Karolus and this is my first post in this forum. I just started learning 3d max a couple months ago. Here is my first ever scene (after trial and error) as I'm an amateur with this software. Currently working for a conveyor mining company using AutoCAD. I will be experimenting with 3D Max as a hobby until I'm better and then I hope to pursue work with the sofware. Just want to say after seing your guys' work - "WOW." I hope I can learn a lot from here.

rintin2x
Thanks for the reply, I just wish they put somekind of simple architecture project tutorial from start to finish and I think detail explaination on the light parameter would help....I think this is going to help a lot for bigginers since I noticed some of the great work done by the experience max user doens't really share their techniques when other members asking about it (sorry if I'm wrong). I disagree with this comment....I think it depends where you post....If you have a max question you should post it in the 3ds max forum section. Gurus like Brian Smith, Rick Eloy, Cristopher Nichols and many others are incredibly generous with their time in my opinion and experience. If you need some help with archi viz tutorials and knowledge you should consult Brian Smith's foundation 3ds max 8 Architectural visualisation book or Digital Lighting and Rendering 2nd Edition. Aside from this I hear that Brian Smiths Visualisation insider is a great resource. but you will learn alot from this forum....you have made a very wise decision at the early point in your learning to start posting here. Let me know if I can be of any help.
rintin2x
Ahhhh-haa....the forum that I checked was "critique forum (something like that)", thanks for the information. There are about 160 pages of threads to check in 3d max software forum, so I guess i won't be going anywhere for quite awhile
Brian Cassil
You'll also want to do the max tutorials that ship with the program. Most of them are quite good. You could probably stay away from the animation one for now and focus on modeling and rendering. Good luck to you!
