ccp76
Hi there, i wanted to know if anyone is using the new version of vray, talking the other day with a friend about the pros ans cons of render engines, he mentioned something about the new version of vray and that the materials from previous version didnt work like they used to, is this true, is there a converter or one must adjust them manually to get them to work with the new version...... thanks Cedric
Ricardo Eloy
They should work fine. Isn't he talking about Standard Materials?

BrianKitts
only thing different with the new materials, is more types and options... such as the double sided, fastSSS, etc... Only problem you could encounter is if you use the new features and try to render with the old engine. you can read up on chaos' forums about switching over and the differences, honest truth though I've been able to render all my old scenes in the new engine by just hitting render without making any changes at all.... Tyorl
Actually there is a material converter from standart to VrayMats. And about difference between vraymaterials it only depends which version are u using, so the 1.5 mats are different from 1.09.
ccp76
sorry for the lack of info, the question was about vray materials, when my friend and i were discussing render engines and he said that the new version of vray would use different versions of vray materials i was worried, so i tried looking for this on the internet, and couldnt find any info on this , then i visited vray-materials.de and i saw that they have all kinds of materials, but they have a separated section about vray 1.50 materials which added to my confusion, but i see theres no problem at all, thank you all for solving this, now next time i see my buddy........... cedric
