TheGrandmaster1
Sorry to bother you fine folks once again. I have run into a bit of a pickle. It seems simple, yet it is not. Does anyone know what this odd speckling is on my render here. I have my noise set down to 0.005. Adaptive QMC Image sampler, with Mitchelle-Netravelli Anti-Aliasing filter. I have a mixed HDR map in the lighting and reflection slots for the lighting. In fact, it's the same lighting system used for the Vray materials site's demo materials. I was practicing to see how my chip model would look with it. My material subdivs are between 16 and 20, so that shouldn't be it. Any ideas? Ricardo Eloy
Do you have any lights in there? If so, increase your light's subdivs to 32 (8 is default).
BrianKitts
as silly as it sounds 0.005 can be noisey depending on the scene. take it to 0.001 or 0.002 and see if that fixes it.
TheGrandmaster1
Do you have any lights in there? If so, increase your light's subdivs to 32 (8 is default). Nope, it's HDR the whole way. as silly as it sounds 0.005 can be noisey depending on the scene. take it to 0.001 or 0.002 and see if that fixes it. I'll give that a shot then, and report back. Thanks for the advice.
TheGrandmaster1
Alas. That did not help. What should the material Subdivs be?
Ricardo Eloy
Try setting the reflective subdivs to 32 for a start and, if that doesn't work, try a higher number. If none of these help, increase the subdivs multiplier under rQMC.
JamesTaylor
If its HDRI lighting, have you switched off your default max light that will be present? It can be done in the global switches section of the render dialog box.
FlytE
Set your qmc noise to 0.002 or 0.003 , set your materials reflective and refractive subdivisions to 50, set your light subdivisions to 10... try a test with those settings and see if its better.
