IC
No, it can't. I'm not sure if Kray can but it probably will in the next release which the makers are touting as a bit of a VRay 'equal'.
Pavlov
Well not quite an equal but sure a valid substitute for LW users. It still lacks some major features before being a Vray equal, like displacement, but GI engine is very strong and in some situations is even faster than Vray, and new release has features like Motion Blur and Instancing. IES lights are still not supported in upcoming 1.7 release. Bye Paolo
IC
Ahh thanks, Paolo. I did mean an equal as far as still using LW was concerned where nothing comes close to VRay functionality but I should have been clearer. You turn up everywhere Kray gets mentioned

IC
Can't you fake it? Normally 2 spotlights at different angle settings and stepped slightly in elevation are convincing enough for my needs. People don't normally take much notice of the authenticity of such things apart from our peers.

Lizard Head
the only real NEED for ies sims in software is some municipalities require a light study for public and commercial projects before proposal submission.
