nzjimmy2001
Hi there, i was wondering if there are any mouse settings in max to control the amount of bevel etc you get when you move your mouse. i would like to be able to do small bevels manually but have to use the number box to do them because any movement i make with my mouse creates huge changes to the bevel (i am unable to do small changes). using the number box is a little slow for my liking. if anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated. birbidouille
Hi NZJimmy, I had exactly the same problem a couple of months ago: trying to chamfer or bevel really small objects in max could be very painful because of mouse movements. After searches I didn't find a decent solution to solve the problem. After some tries I found that chamfering or beveling small objects in other viewports than perspective one is working better. Mouse seems to not slip in non perspective view. I don't understand why, but that's it for me. Have a try.
nzjimmy2001
ok cheers for that. i thought about maybe trying to change the mouse settings in windows control panel but then my mouse would move to slowly for other applications. Koper
ok, somebody correct me on this, I might have this wrong! a normal mouse that you get with your pc, keyboard or just simply buy at a regular retailer only have a small amount of depth control, for example, (in simple terms) when zooming in with your mouse wheel, it steps, and the distance between each step is large, or when zooming in by draging the mouse it steps large distances. This is what happens when you drag in the viewport. One does get specialised equipment, check out the wacom or 3Dconnexion sites for more detials on this. You can always make the system units much smaller and then drag the number boxes as you explained before!
