STRAT
looking very very nice so far. couple of points - * the white render - it's looking too bumped. tone it down a tad. * watch the AA on the chrome pool steps. also, the chrome looks too bright and shiney. * that umbrella looks awfully flat toned * gonna add more refs to the glass? * look at the opacity trees/bushes. they stand out a mile. tell us how you did the roof, it looks superb! nisus
Hi Cyborg, It's a very nice atmosphere you caught in your image I like i a lot. Well done are the roof tiles and the plaster to the left, although the latter could be improved if not every column caught the same pattern. Rotate the gizmo around the z-axis and adjust tiling accordingly. This way you'll avoid the repeated bump pattern, making your material even greater. How are your lighting fixtures fixed to the arcs? (They seem to float in high air) Anyway, well done... Just wondering why your ball is sinking half into the water... rgds nisus
cyborg
@strat About the roof..Done in MAX. The technic is: For the roof: -Use the collapse utility to turn all the tiles into 1 object. -Apply a MaterialByElement modifier with 6-8 IDs randomly distributed. You can assign more weight to 1 or 2 IDs if it's supposed to be pretty homogenous. -Change your tile material to a MultiSub with slight variations in the diffuse color. -You may even want to make each diffuse a noise map between lighter and darker colors of the same hue, with different coordinates for each submaterial. This will add non-repeating variation to the colors of the roof tiles like you would see on an actual site. Thanks for your tips and trick..I will use them. @nisus Thanks for the comment and your tricks. Yeah I know I still got to fix the lamps to the walls. Modelling it right now. About the ball..It's half in the water cause it half full of it (it didn't look right when it was floating on the water. Update later. The scene was modelled in AutoCAD/MAX and rendered with Final Render.
bigcahunak
The yard is very detailed, ut why is the hous so empty...? Same remark about the ball being pulled down by a shark. The trees on the right looks weird, and something in the horizon to finish it up would help too. Very very nice roof tiles indeed, but you need somekind of concrete between the tiles and the above riding ones.
cyborg
@bigcahunakelner Your are right about the emptyness. I will put some furniture into it. Thanks

JPS
Very nice composition. I'm ready for a BBQ pool side. Can you share with us what type of lighting system you used... Number of lights, and settings, etc? I always have problems with white materials not looking so white, but you have done a marvelous job here, although I agree with Strat the bump is a little strong. Cheers, J.
cyborg
@JPS I'm only using 1 direct spot, the rest Global Illumination. The scene was rendered with FinalRender for MAX5. Final update soon. Cheers, J.
