Greetings,

I would love to enlist the help of the professionals and students here by asking for your opinions on possible content for an upcoming conference that I am helping to organize.

I am currently a full-time architecture student at UWM-Milwaukee and I am a co-chair for the committee that plans the annual student conference entitled “Fourm”, which is presented by the AIAS.

Starting December 28 2007, the 4 days of Forum will be hosted by UWM in Milwaukee, WI. The committee is currently in the early stages of planning for the seminars, workshops and keynote speakers for the expected 800 college students.

The seminars and workshops will include subjects such as hand/NPR rendering in different types of media + CG rendering, graphic/portfolio design, and green/sustainable architecture. The presenters would be at a high level in their respective field, and for the rendering workshops, they would preferably be active in a recognized studio for student interest; WETA, Neoscape, Pixar, Smoothe, Ubisoft. Architecture design is found in more than just build environments and today is needed in movies and games as well, hence the diverse options.

The 4 keynote speakers for the respective 4 days would cover subjects such as, media & other influences on the publics perception of architects, small [10 man or less] “one-stop” shops firms that are handling the entire project from real estate development to interior design, historic renovation with sustainable/green architecture in mind, and the final day presentation to be given by a currently in demand architect or celebrity active in building awareness with green architecture. All presenters will be dynamic and hold college students attention.

If you would know of someone that fits this category, or may qualify yourself, please email me: forum2007cochair [at] gmail [dot] com

I can point you to our online bid packet which outlines more details if so desired.

Cheers!

Paul Griger

***EDIT***

It's 2007, not 2006 :)

Why don't you just ask the Neoscape and Smoothe guys?

The conference Dec 28th-31st? Is this right? I would nominate myself, but that is prime vacation time.

They are definitely on our list :)

Yeah, that's prime vacation time, why not vacation on MKE next year? We may not have the warm sun, but we will have 1000 archi students unleashed on the city after being holed up in studio for a semester ;)
