mbowers
Hello all. Anyone have any ideas to turn a 3d object into a 2d pattern? I've skipped on tutorials with regards to mapping and then unwrapping but want to do this with geometry. I've seen programs like Lamina ($150) or Pepakura ($40) but wonder if can do this with max already? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Ernest Burden III
Hello all. Anyone have any ideas to turn a 3d object into a 2d pattern? It took me a minute to figure out what you meant. You want to make an assembly/folding pattern? If so, I recall that Rhino can do that. I don't know if Max can, someone else will have to answer that part. jtiscareno
I just read about pepakura and it blew my mind....and for 40 bucks you can't go wrong. Check out the work of digit-all studio, this guys are actually using pepakura for unfolding their softimage forms and importing them into autocad for actual manufacturing!!!
