Crazy Homeless Guy Posted November 21, 2006 Share Posted November 21, 2006 thanks for the reply travis I am not using a hdri but you might be right i will try a sun source and see if that is any better, as a matter of interest i have the primary bounces set to 1.7 and do not have any other light source so wiil give what you suggested a try kent were you using a GI enviroment? ...basically, it looks like you only have a GI solution. it is difficult to impossible to get good shadowes with only a GI solution. a GI solution only provides skylight, light reflected off of the atmosphere byt he sun. it does not provide sunlight itself. to get sunlight you still need to add a light source for the sun in addition to the GI solution.
