haha... well, i was gonna post the autocad model of the same bldg just to carry on the fun. But geez... you all know its a non-digital model right? Just thought Id throw a red herring in the works for a laugh.. See if I got any serious feedback about the radiosity (which was real sunlight)

Is CGArchitect not mean Cardboard + Glue Architect?...

Anyway....

Yup, im the funny guy.

I knew that.

I was going to write in my previous reply that you are probably going to build a model just for the wireframe request you were asked about earlier.

Man, I just know your moves... scary

"well, if you'd had previous work anywhere near same standard as this photograph you'd not have cast doubt in my head"

Strat - I hope that your comment was an attempt at sarcasm. Im far from being an expert - but for a part-time CG artist... (mainly lunch hours), I've produced images of comparable quality to anything I have seen from yourself - and if I am not mistaken, you are full time?

I'm not here to make enemies!

Anyway.. :D

To clear up any confusion... The inital image in this post is NOT Computer Graphics, it IS a SCALE MODEL.

However, I have made a computer model - which I will render sometime in the future - and post it here when completed.

Thanks for all comments and for taking a look at my work. Im not an expert.. just someone always wanting to learn more and more.

Now that is fun, we are now building scale modells that look like cg renderings. Whats next, the architects want to make a building that looks like cg ?! What a strange island you live on :D

BTW, nice modell and a good eye for detail.

mike yuo old wag!LOL

mind you it is weird that even though people get some really good results it was so easy to tell that was a real model. obviously there is some way to go if you are after that real look.

reminds me of my last project. my tutor moaned that i wasn't making enough real models so i did i fakie real model. it is really not that good but they have no idea about software other than archicad so they beleived my. doh!

trouble is they wanted my to bring it in. opps!

Not really a scanner as such.. in basic terms, you print out a 3d model... there are various rapid prototyping methods, but normally they use a vat, a laser, and plastic in powder form. Laser solidified the plastic powder... and after a few hours you have a nice model. I had one made a few weeks ago for my product design elective - will post in here sometime soon. Its nothing too amazing, but was cool to have it made.
