Spline distances

Hi,

I want to be able to specify the lenghts of a spline while I create it, also with segments at angles. I have recently discovered that I can use the polar snap tool for drawing splines at angles but can't fathom how to type a distance for the segments. I've tried the max keyboard entry thing but failed miserably. ie how would you create a shape like this redo one to these dimensions:

Any help would be very much appreciated.

the only way i can think of it to use the keyboard entry funktion under the spline menu. In the drawing that you posted, the first point will be at 0,0,0 (clik add point, to place a point) and the next point (going clockwise) will be at 6000,0,0 and so forth.

Another optinon is to define your grid to a unit that matches your need, then use the snap funktion together with x,y,z read-out in the buttom of the screen

Yep really annoyed me when i first started to use Max as I had used AutoCAD alot before. Basically draw what you need in AutoCAD and then use the File Link Manager to link this to max and trace round it with ur line tool in max.

Do you think now that Max is a product of Autodesk that future versions will have the ability to draw lines to a set dimension?
