sunny exterior

hi blade, looks like a good start.

the things which i think could do with some improving:

1. those reflections in the window are a bit strong in my opinion, maybe reduce them slightly.

2. the 3 point perspective in the first image is never a good idea. (keep your verticals vertical) use a 2 point perspective, it makes for a much nicer composition.

finally, i really like the 'flat' background buildings you have used. gives a nice harmony with the foreground. this might not be to everyones liking...but i dig it :)

Good start- try these:

1) pick a more dramatic/interesting sky

2) reduce the scale of the bump and or texture used for the grass

3) try to get more variation in the walls and pavement. They look a little flat 'cause they are all one color in my opinion. May add joint lines, small bump maps or diffuse maps with some subtle variation in color.

notice how the cars do not look flat at all? there are layers of information- base color + reflections + highlights.

I agree with the 2 point comment

modify and re-post

Hi,

Don't know what program your using to do ur model but if its Max put a Camera Correction on ur camera, it will straighten up the edges of ur building so they look vertical and not on the piss.

To do this select ur camera then go to the Modifier drop down menu --> Camera --> Camera Correction. Just remember if you change ur camera angle to hit guess again to line it up.

I would also find a different material for the driveway, maybe some nice gravel?

As said the reflections are too crisp, surely if its a very sunny day your not likely to see anything in those windows just a light grey/black look?

Maybe tone down the red car as it draws your attention away from the building as its so shiny etc.

And maybe some edging stones/bricks around your grass areas to give them a border, and others have said you need to get a higher res grass picture for your material.

Hope those comments help.
