andreg
Hi All, I ordered a Precision 9200 Core2 duo with a 20" widescreen. Now I don't know how this happened but I received not one but 2 screens! I freaking out since on the bill it says only one and i'm only paying for one! What would you guys do in a situation like this? Honestly, I think I'll keep the extra screen untill I hear from them, then I'll just return it lol. If I don't hear from them in the near future... For sure i'll order from them again! Anyway, just your advice on this, thanks:D

Ernest Burden III
For good karma you should call them, let them know. If they don't do anything to arrange to retrieve the item then keep it with a clean conscience. Dell may not want to bother, especially if they have to list the thing as 'returned' even if you didn't open the box.

Ray
I remember seeing a commercial on tv a long time ago, which was done by the U.S. post office. They stated that if you ever receive anything in the mail that you didn't order, then it's yours to keep--they showed an Eskimo opening a box and pulling out a desktop fan. I never looked into this, I don't know if it's actually true (wait, the gov't never lies to us!), I don't know how this would apply to ups or (I hate) fedex, don't know how this would fly in Canada, etc. etc. Anyway, does anyone else remember this commercial? afterglow
Keep it! They just sent you a spare one in case the one you purchased dies.
Koper
Dell screws up more often than not. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, it pretty much evens out in the end. when i ordered my pc last year i told the guy twice to install xp English version, the thing came and it was in Dutch, the xp cd also in Dutch, and no motherboard or any other driver cd's. i called them again and within 24h i had the xp English version, but still had to download all the drivers from their site. but i still do support them cause they do deliver an excellent service. andreg - Be a man, do the right thing, or is it, do the right thing, be a man
Trevor Tizard
My dell arrived this morning with no monitor...............you must have mine. Perhaps you'd be kind enough to drive it over to me later today! Only kidding................if they don't ask for it back - keep it!
AJLynn
I had an Inspiron a few years ago, P3 with a 15" UXGA and 128MB, I think it was a 5100. It had a design flaw - the case would crack around the hinges. I got it replaced 3 times, and when it was 27 months old it was breaking again. I was fed up with it, so I called and berated a customer service rep and a tech support rep for 2 hours until they agreed to a full replacement with a different model - and sent me a new 8200 with a P4 2.0, 512MB, newer video card, DVD+CDRW, etc. Later the fan on the 8200 broke, so they sent a guy to fix it, and for some reason upgraded it to a P4 2.2. quizzy
well lets see what dell does with my new pc i ordered.. maybe they accidentally put an extra processor in there!!! would be nice to have 8 cores... Or maybe they really have 512GB memory strips... according to their website mine comes with 8x512GB memory, but their calculator must be broken cause they say thats only 4GB....... David Knourek
8x512mb is only 4gb... As for Dell, call them up and if they refuse to send for it keep it. A friend of mine got a XPS laptop from them and a few days after he got it, another arrives. So he calls up dell and tells them they screwed up and to send a pickup for it and they refused. So he sold it a while later and Dell never mentioned it... -dave
Koper
Quizzyee, nice to see you! haven't seen you here a while - Andrew, so I can ask you to talk to Dell when my pc gives in and I only will accept something twice as big and fast as I have now:D I have a dual xeon now

Crazy Homeless Guy
...i think i would be concerned if i held Dell stock. yes, it is probably a small fraction of purchases, but the lack of effort to correct the problem is a bit troubling. luckytohaveher
A couple of years ago I was parking my car. I accidentally scraped a tail light next to me and broke it. Later, I contacted the owner and took care of it. That was some of the best money I've ever spent. Sometimes what you do is what you are. It ain't your monitor. I would call them and try to give it back. If they won't take it, keep it. 'You want the red pill or the blue pill?' -- Morpheus, The Matrix.
