Ras
Hi Fernando Wow ! This is really good! One of the best I´ve seen in a while. good viewpoint, nice textures - nothing silly. It´s simply very good. Congatulations. Little things: The direct sun could reach just a bit further into the room maybe or not at all?!? It makes the cropping seem a little too tight. The art under the beams could be a little smaller so as not to steal the picture(!?) from the beams. The space in front of the fireplace could maybe use some furniture - the TV seems to miss some company... Now it seems a bit empty. I understand that you removed the furniture to show the kitchen but maybe just a Steeltube chair or two. The corner of the TV/Fireplace furniture is a little too close to the vaulted ceiling. The picture is so well composed that I was just pleased when I saw it - I would like to live there - these comments are here because I deliberatly looked for things to comment on. Would you give us the specs (rendertimes, settings etc.)? finalrender is looking very strong now.
Fernando Lino
Thanks for your commentary Well, I'm still working on the roof...it will be taller and I'll use 2 more beams. For the next days I'll design the rest of the house and after that I could start to work on the environmental issues (accessories, furniture, pictures, etc). Hardware: Dual opteron 240 2Gb Ram 128 video GI – 8 bounces Refraction – 2 Reflection - 2 Resolution 1500x1000 (35min) Rays 64/32 samples-absolute 8" ratio 1/
schmoron13
wonderfull composition. Hard to find anything wrong but here goes: you have a bright bright bright sunlight coming in, yet there's a fire raging? Also, the sunlight would probably affect the television (post work in photoshop with a lens flare?) is the kitchen modeled or mapped? I know it's knit-picking, but it looks flat compared to the rest... overall, great job
Fernando Lino
I used diffuse Glow and Noise....that's it!! ..this effect looks like lens flare is omni lights ( 2yellows and 1 orange). I modeled everything there, even the refrigerator, range, microwave, hood, the faucet and the sink ( I am modeling the dishwasher) ....I don't have these kind of libraries, this is my second interior render (mostly exteriors) because I don't have time to do it...but, this project is very special to me...I am the client, the Architect, drafter, the developer, the CGartist, etc orangeno ...and my goal is getting the financing to build 24 of them. Ras
Hi Fernando Well - as I said - I would definetly live there! Where are you building them? Its nice to see a good rendering AND nice design together. Since you did the design yourself I think it is in place to mention that also. Second pic is a little dark. Also for a shot that close you could put some stuff on the counters - maybe just some vegies and/or some pots. It might help the client picture themselves there - Unless your strategy is "untouched". Overall the first shot has much more potential than the second. It might have something to do with the cropping also... Its tight on the right. I´d like to see a real wide format here - maybe 3x1 (3000x1000) or something like that - you know a "just-got-of-the-stairs-room-scan" view. (AKA the all-popular "jgotsrs" view ) I am missing the relation to the living space in this one that I sensed in the first one. The wide format could give you a chance to show the contact with the outdoors also. Could be nice to see if the "eating-enclosure" (the kitchen space sorrounded by the railing) works like it is. I think the railing could be exactly right so you don´t see a forest of table- and chairlegs when you are sitting in the living space. You could do a rendering on that subject to test your design when you start furnishing the model... OK - looking real close - underneath the stairs is a SLOAPE (Space Left Over After Planing Ends) as my teacher used to say. Whats it for - maybe a closed staircase with some closetspace instead? Anyway, I´m only saying all this beacuse I´m sure that you are confident in your skills and will only take the advice if it fits your own ideas. Plans and sections? I will not violate any copyrights...
cullen
I must say, this is very impressive. I agree with everyone so far that your work looks great!!! I think it's awesome that you designed this as well. Can't wait to see more....
Dire Wolf
Looks nice. I am wondering how do you get the grainy look to the image. Is it added in photoshop? I really like the grainy look but can not figure out how to do it. Thanks
garethace
Just one comment, you might enjoy this article about housing design trends. http://www.planetizen.com/news/item.php?id=11853 Click on full story in the wall street journal. Something about the spaces in those images, for a house, reminded me of the article.
gus_webb
beautiful renders... this note is to schmoron: living in minnesota, i can tell you that sun does not necessarily have a direct correlation to temperature. last week it was nice and sunny, and -43 degrees. having a raging fire in the fireplace is a pretty common occurance here, if you're lucky enough to have one. why in god's name do i live in this state??? anyway, hi everybody! Ernest Burden III
I found the framed photos odd--Central Park, Empire St. Bldg (good so far) Golden Gate Bridge? One of these thigs is not like the others one of these things just doesn't belong...
