Guest sachinwalvekar
hi Guys, This is my first vray based project & I request c & c. Posted are images of living room on second floor. At the other end is the kitchen which I am working on. My settings were : Primary - irradiance map secondry - QMC rQMC Sampler Noise Threshold 0.02 Min Samples 16 Global Sub div Mul 2.0 VRAY light sampling sub div 16. My images seem blotchy. Do I need to playaround with the same variables as above. Please let me know what u think of the images. Thanks & Regards, sachin.

mfured20
looks nice, but adjust the texture mapping on the leather couches... it looks a bit too big. also, i tend to use light cache for my interior shots for the second bounce as opposed to qmc, you could try that to lower your render times and it might help wit the slight splotches. ericbarlow21
The material on your couch could use some help. It looks like you need to adjust your UV's so that the size of the leather grain is the same consistancy throughout the couch. Right now the grain in the back appears to be much smaller than the seat area and there is also stretching on the vertical arm rest parts. I would also try give the background image a bit of help. Guest sachinwalvekar
hi guys, Here is the work after including changes made by architect. Thanks all of u for suggesting light cache as secondry & irradiance as primary. I have managed to reduce my rendering time considerably, though I can still see metalic objects such as aluminium & chrome take lot of time to render the bucket. I cant afford the dual processor motheboard, so need suggestions to optimize on rendering time. Your c&c most welcome. Thanks a ton all of u, I could not have managed it with u guys & this excellent forum by CGarchitect.com. regards, sachin.
Tommy L
To lower the rendering time for the chrome you can lower the sub-divs in the chrome material for the glossy relections. It gets noisier, but I find anything over 15 doesnt make the quality noticibly better from the distance you have the camera from the object. PS: I think it defaults to 50, which is very high. Another thing i must mention about ur image which i feel is purely mismatching is your exterior part behind your windows. they have become very unrealistic. some photoshop work will improve them a lot.
