Iain Denby
How is Vray at handling big texture maps? I have a tower to render but not sure whether to model the details or map them. But the map would need to be around 5000px by 2000px (and probably at least 2 of them in a blend material). Also, in terms of memory, is it the pixel size of a map or it's kb size that viz/Vray take into account? Using Viz
Tim Saunders
Also, in terms of memory, is it the pixel size of a map or it's kb size that viz/Vray take into account? I wish I knew. Since migrating to vray 1.5 I have been getting a substantial amount of bitmap-memory errors when rendering High resolution stuff. Mainly when I get lots of 3d cars an people in the scene with images mapped to them. It probably depends on how many image-maps you have in your scene, and the size of the image-map files. Anyone else have any info on this?
