Phil Shields
Hi guys WIP image of proposed shop, rendered over night. I guess for those like me, who don't need to do rendering very often, then Maxwell is an acceptable option. For me Microstation, 3DS Max & Vray, is a lot to pay for, and keep updating every year.....especially as my boss prefers watercolors! I guess it depends on your budget and the number of images you intend to produce. Also the work flow is a lot simpler...and Maxwell is easy to use! All C+C welcome...I need it Well just my 2 cents worth. Cheers Phil
Parker1
Not a bad start. Lighting is looking pretty good, texturing could use some more work (the carpet in particular). What are those strange caustics (ie those white hot spots)? Keep tweaking and re-post when your done. Cheers
F J
theres still a lil noise to it.. maybe u should let it cook over 2 nights
Phil Shields
Thanks guys I could tweak the carpet textures in PS to remove the patterning effect, but I'm not sure this is enough to make it convincing? The bronze facade is too reflective, I've attached another test with lower reflection, but it looks a little flat to me....something in-between perhaps? Not sure about the caustics on the plaster walls, but I guess these could be removed in PS Ummm yes...noise is a problem, even heavily filtered it persists, perticulaly in the showcase... Cheers:D Phil
rpompeu
Hi Phil. I enjoyed the image lightining and a can't see the noise issue that your are saying. I think that you could put a bump map in the carpet, or increase it if it already has one. Cheers
Phil Shields
Hi Thanks for your comments rpompeu I have tweaked the carpet and agree, it does still need some more work. I will try it with a bump map, like you suggest. well the lighting...this is Maxwell's magic I guess The noise is filtered with some areas touched up in photoshop, obviously not ideal, but I hope the result is still quite passable Cheers Phil
