sutaih
I've never used RPC Trees with VRay and I want to use them in the background of my animation and I can't seem to get the look I want. I am using 3DS Max 9 with VRay 1.5. 1.) Do I need to replace the materials in the mat editor with VRay materials? 2.) What settings do I need to use in order to get the trees to cast a shadow? I might also mention that I'm using a VRay Sun and a VRay Physical camera in my scene. Also, if there is an alternate low poly tree that I could use in place of RPC's, I'm open for suggestions. Thanks in Advance!
bdonay
Please attach an image so that we can see your problem a little better. But for now: 1: no, you do not need to convert the RPC's material to vray. 2: go into your sun's exclude option and clear the RPC from the exlude from illumination and shadow casting column. Then under the RPC's options, check cast shadows. I have had some issues with RPCs and shadows before, check their website for a tut on shadows casting.
