William Alexander
Back again, Dropped the NPR, to0 heavy, although the print version really had the pencil feel. For an illustration it was weak. So I revised it added viz4 radiosity and some entourage. http://www.cgarchitect.com/forum/filepush.asp?file=ftlb2.jpg org post by jucaro IMHO, npr should not be some sort of escape goat technique to hide the details of what is supposed to be presented, or to cover up for the loss of detail. Your right and this is a repsonse to that crit. Please keep in mind, you only see half of the room and this scene consists of 5 cad drawings linked into viz. That created the shop drawings for the actual work - 15 sheets, if ever performed. Some 50+ layers. Accurate and detialed wood materials worthy of this scene is a burdensome task, although needed. I was trying to cover for lack of detial, can you blame a guy for trying? Any suggestions for modeling lion head mantle sides? Anyone know where I might find front and side pictures. Specifically something that resembles Raymond Enkeboll's carved elements. Yeah :ngeupset: , the fireplace needs work and the picture light fixture luminaries are to bright. This is a work in progress and crits are welcome. rgrds WDA

William Alexander
Thanks, extremely cg-ish, Suggestions for a minimal approach? Or should I just bite the bullet and go for full mapping of all of the materials? rgrds WDA
jucaro
WDA: If it looks right, then maybe its right. I realy admire you going to the lengths of modelling the details, but if you'd go to the way of just mapping them. then its just fine, as long as its just what you need. Just like the way Marko Dabrovic had the material bumps of the sponza atrium columns. just sweet!
