What are your light sources? Those splotches are often the result of small light sources, ie., lights that have a relatively smaller impact on your scene. Trying removing all but the largest light source, the sun, and add the other lights one by one while rendering in between until you see which is causing this. For example, it might be those tiny ceiling lights causing all the problems. Not saying you have to do without them but knowing the problem is half the battle. If they are the problem, you might try a different type of light or illumination source.
