jhanphillipco
I don't find RPC so convincing here. Do you guys use high quality image for the entourage and vegetations around the building? and lastly how can i improve the over all look of the house? Thanx guys
manta
Shadows will help alot...and a stronger direct light
The_architect06
good render as a starter in vray, but your trees & human figures aren't dropping shadows, the areas where you have shadows looks a little bit grainy, lots of noise out there, you can correct this by using higher settings for the irradiance map, one more thing..how did you manage to squeeze those two cars in that small garage ? martin walker
also keep an eye on texture resolution balances...ie road texture is scaled and blurry, compared with textures on the building
ipxstudios
your camera angle may be a little too severe - the rest of the landscape doesn't match the perspective. The landscape drops off in the back - it would look interesting if there was something beyond. Also the entourage trees and figures don't match the lighting direction. Nice start though! jhanphillipco
ok here are some changes. I set the irr map setting to low for now. ill deal with the noise after i compose everything right. plants and vegatations are still a pain in the a$$ when using RPC. Tried using shadow light RPC but I cant figure it out. Does it work in VRAY? My 2nd concern is the window glass. i would want to have a reflection of trees and sky without using any objects in front. is that possible? thanx guys for your patience. PS Im planing to retouch the road and sidewalk in post
AFK_Matrix
That looks a bit better. I would personally put some fences up behind the house as it always looks strange to me when you have that blue part behind trees as usually there is something behind a building. As for vegetation I used to use RPC but when I put a camera correction modifier on my camera it made all the RPC stuff distorted, asked RPC about it and they said yeah that happens deal with it (was not impressed) so now I do all my trees and plants in photoshop instead of in Max. I found some nice high res 2d pics of trees and plants that work a treat. Also your people still arn't getting any shadow. I would also lighten the area under the roof, looks to dark and forboding. Same with the area where the two ground floor windows are behind the white pillars, also lighten that passage witht he arch on the left. And lastly it needs a better sky with more going on in it. ben1arch
The rpc trees and plants, just don't make it. They can be used for animations but for still frames I use Piranesi. Here is an image that I used it on. I put the rpc cars in max, but for the trees, shrubs and people, I used Piranesi. Piranesi also does the shadows automatically. I also used Piranesi for the reflection in the asphalt and dropped in and adjusted the sky I wanted.

AFK_Matrix
Mate that is alot better good work. I am always working on making my renders better and if you saw how my first renders werethat I did 3 years ago and the ones I do now you would think someone else had done them lol. Its always great to have people on forums like this critique your work as thats the only way to get better, from sharing ideas and ways of doing things. Good luck with your future models. jhanphillipco
Here is a part of my glass window in the house. Obviously there is something wrong with it. I put a box behind the glass. It seems that the liht doesn't pass throught the glass and i can see some jagged pixel:confused: . Can somebody help me to set the right material for this? Im using a vray mat with reflec/refract standard settings. Thank again guys. I'm using a direct light by the way
