Kyle Kuhlman Posted December 8, 2006 Share Posted December 8, 2006 When I am rendering my scene, the IES lights appear as white spheres in any reflections! This is especially obvious in this case, since the shot passes by a large mirror. I have tried adjusting the vray properties, and regular properties, and I have yet to find a solution or work-around. If you do, you need to unlock the hilite glossiness and make sure that it is set to 1. If thats not it, I don't know. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Tim Nelson Posted December 11, 2006 Share Posted December 11, 2006 Hmm, then I'm not sure about that. Is there an option in the properties to make it invisible to reflection/refraction? I don't think that's possible to do with lights, but it's worth a try. I use ies lights sometimes, but I never get that problem unless there is a glossy hilite on the material. Kyle Kuhlman Posted December 13, 2006 Author Share Posted December 13, 2006 The lights that were causing the spere reflections were actually Vray Spheres and there is no work around for this that I know of... they are set to invisible, and vray properties are adjusted... So I have to use strictly HDR and IES lights for this scene. Thanks for your input, and let me know of any discoveries to make a Vray standard light invisible to reflections.
