vizfx
Hi Take a look at some amazing tools http://www.3dconnexion.com. The best news is that they have an affordable SpaceNavigator http://3dconnexionstore.com/itemDetail.asp?T1=56826423N Best regards. Mihai
oluv
sounds interesting, but have you ever tried it by yourself? i mean is it really that much better than a usual doom-like navigation? i am thinking of real-time presentations in public and i am wondering if this tool is really intuitive enough so that everyone can use it easily. vizfx
There is an answer for this question on their site. Take a look at http://www.3dconnexion.com/video/9b.php - Google Earth section. It`s so impressive that I want to buy one.
wilky9
I watched Mason Thrall from Google/Sketchup use one the other night to fly around a Google Earth model. It was very impressive and gave the navigation a more natural look, like a helicopter flying around instead of "click, zoom, move." He let me "fly" for a while and I found it to be very easy to use. The control was very sensitive, but it was easy to dial it back. I asked Mason if he ever tried modeling with it, and he said that he'd tried to but that it didn't work out well. Maybe with some practice you could model with it. But, as a presentation tool it was very slick.
