jtiscareno
OK, is it me or have you guys noticed the new way 3dsmax9 is getting configured or installed? It has changed quit a lot from max8; it apparently is configuring itself as per User Profile, with this whole new creation of max folders. Is there a way to revert to the "old" way, I mean to configure or point max to read from one static location, whichever it might be, so that it does not default back to it's new default user location??? Can we bypass the new method and have a static configuration to save custom loading profiles and then have it load every time from it??? Thanks a whole lot!!! Verma
I think you're referring to the new feature "project folder". This was a long time wish list item and is very useful in my opinion to have separte project folder to organize all the files, textures etc. If you prefer the old way, you can always set the project folder in your Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 9 as the default location. I don't think there's any way to bypass this feature. I might be wrong.
jtiscareno
Rahul, yes that is part of the problem but the main thing is that Configuration settings are no longer stored globally in the MAX 9 folder. They are now stored per user profile which is going to make things very difficult to update in the future. Any ideas
