hereagain
How can I temporarily hide any Vray lights in my scene and turn on default lights so I can see my model with "Smooth and Highlights" selected in the viewport? This particular model has a vray light in the left corner of the scene, so I can't see anything on the right side or back of the model without moving the lightsource (see attached image). Thanks for the help.

BrianKitts
ctrl+L switches your viewport to default lighting. If you go into the control panel for your viewports you can also switch the defualt lighting between one and two default lights, different scenes can be seen better with different options. give it a play and see which one you like better. I have it on two lights 90% of the time.
