jonrempel
I am working on a scene for a QTVR movie but I can't seem to improve the quality of the movie. The rendered image looks fine but the movie is blurry. How would I resolve this problem? I am using 3DS Max 9 and mental ray as the renderer. chuck
Jon, I think it's just how the image gets stiched together. You have to export a really large image...sometimes 5000px etc. If you look at the raw image you can see how the shape changes...the smallest area gets blown up and blurred. A quick test with a simple scene should confirm this. It's too bad you have to export such a large image...and 6 of them at that. Maybe someone else can chime in here too because my file size gets too big to be effective over the internet. Chuck
jonrempel
Thanks Chuck, I will give this a try...hopefully it works because I have a potential client that might just go for this instead of the animation I quoted.
Jeff Mottle
I made this same mistake the first time I was asked to make a QTVR for a client. I can't recall the apps I used (was quite a few) and I quoted the client the same price as a normal rendering thinking I'd just render a spherical camera and I'd be set. As Chuck eluded to, you need to render a really high res image. I think mine was around the 5-7K mark in the end as well.
Sindala
I made a few qtvr's and used http://www.pano2qtvr.com/ to put it together, it gives great control over the output. I think i found the program here actually.
jonrempel
If I render the image at between 7-10K, it works great. Thanks for the help. Jon Rempel
